Japan has marked the one year countdown to the start of the tenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 10), which will be held in Nagoya, Japan in October 2010. To mark this occasion the COP 10 logo and slogan was launched at the Ministry of the Environment in Tokyo.

The COP 10 slogan, “Life in harmony, into the future” articulates the need for coexistence between humans and biodiversity for the sake of future generations. The logo, in the form of origami conveys the same message, by arranging diverse flora and fauna in a circular shape with an adult and child in the center.
